#STRecruiting Notebook July 19th

Clemson offered 2023 LB Tausili Akana (6-4 225) of Kahuku, HI. He’s a four-star prospect in the 247Sports Composite and ranked the #3 LB nationally in his class and the #1 prospect in Hawaii. He visited Clemson June. Some of his other offers are Oklahoma, Nebraska, Virginia, Michigan, Pitt, Ohio State, Texas A&M, TCU, Texas, Mississippi State, Cal, Arizona, Wisconsin, LSU and Washington. His sister attends Nebraska. Also, in June Akana visited Michigan, Ohio State, Nebraska, Texas, Texas A&M and TCU. According to MaxPreps stats, last season Kana totaled 32 tackles in 9 games with 3 sacks, 3 tackles for loss, 2 blocked field goals and a blocked punt.

USC is in the final three with CB Trequon Fegans of Alabaster, AL Fegans told Chad Simmons of On3sports he has the Gamecocks on his list along with Alabama and Miami. Fegans cut Georgia and Oklahoma from what was his top five. He plans a decision by end of month, and he doesn’t have any visits scheduled for the last week of July. Fegans made official visits to Miami and USC in June, and he camped at Alabama early in the month. Fegans is a four-star in the 247Sports Composite and ranked the #10 cornerback nationally.

2024 OT Kam Pringle of Woodland was offered by Florida State. He also has offers from USC, Florida, Arizona State, Duke, Georgia, Memphis, Florida A&M, Middle Tennessee State and Virginia Tech. In June, Pringle camped and visited at USC, Clemson and Florida and took an unofficial visit to Georgia.

2023 OT Payton Kirkland (6-7 285) of Orlando, who has offers from USC and Clemson, plans to visit Ohio State the end of this month for a three day stay. In June Kirkland made unofficial visits to Clemson, Georgia Tech, FAU, FIU, UCF, Miami and Florida State, and he camped at Georgia.

ATH Tre McLeod (6-2 185) of Trinity Byrnes committed to Furman.

6-0 Talaysia Cooper of East Clarendon named a top 7 of USC, Virginia Tech, Georgia, Florida State, Tennessee, Duke and Ole Miss. She is ranked the #18 prospect nationally in the 2022 class by ESPN.

6-2 Janiah Barker of Tampa named a final five of USC, Ole Miss, Georgia, Louisville and Duke. She’s ranked the #2 prospect in the class and #1 at her position by ESPN.
