#STRecruiting Notebook July 14th (UPDATED) #Clemson target sets commitment date; new #Gamecocks basketball offer goes out

Clemson target five-star SAF Keon Sabb (6-3 195) of Williamston, NJ and IMG Academy in Florida plans to announce his college commitment on Saturday at 4:00 PM on CBS Sports HQ. Sabb named a final list of Clemson, Georgia, Michigan, Penn State, Texas A&M and LSU. Sabb has had Clemson at the top of his list and made an unofficial visit on June 11th. He made official visits in June to Michigan, Penn State, Texas A&M and Georgia. Sabb is ranked the #22 prospect nationally and the #2 ATH in the class in the 247Sports Composite. Sabb’s IMG teammate and fellow Clemson target CB Daylen Everette also is announcing Saturday with Clemson, Georgia and North Carolina his finalists. The Tigers also are in position to nab Mauldin CB Jeadyn Lukas when he announces July 28th. North Carolina and Ohio State are the other top contenders.

DT Nick James of Prattville, AL reports back to IMG Academy in Bradenton, FL this weekend, and he said that will preclude him from taking any more visits the end of the month. James said the school will allow the players to take visits during their bye week. James took official visits to USC and Ohio State last month. He also took unofficial visits to Mississippi State, Texas, Florida and UCF. James Tuesday night named his top schools as USC, Ohio State, Texas A&M, Florida and UCF. James said he’d like to visit all of his favorites again for a game this season, but his plan to make his commitment before his season.

USC target DT Jamari Lyons of Melbourne, FL told the Florida 247Sports site he will take an official with USC in September. He took an unofficial visit in June. He also visited Florida and plans a return trip the last week of July. He’s been favoring the Gators.

Greenville SAF Ashton Whitner was offered by Georgia Southern.

USC offered 3-star 6-5 Brice Sensabaugh of Orlando. Virginia Tech, Florida, Ole Miss and Cincinnati are some other offers.

Clemson offered 2023 4-star combo-guard 6-3 Reed Sheppard of London, KY. He’s ranked #12 CG nationally in his class in the 247Sports Composite. Some other offers are Kentucky, Arizona State and College of Charleston. Both parents played hoops at UK.
