
The USC football team is set to complete its first spring under Shane Beamer Saturday with the Garnet & Black Game at Williams-Brice Stadium. 15,000 fans will be allowed in. There is a threat of heavy rain for Saturday afternoon in Columbia, but Shane Beamer said Tuesday the show will go on as planned at this point. Beamer practiced his guys for a second time this week Tuesday morning. They team will be off Wednesday and will practice Thursday and Friday leading into Saturday’s game.
Beamer said the format of the game will be simply a football game. The team will be evenly divided into two squads. Offensive coordinator Marcus Satterfield and defensive coordinator Clayton White will call plays for both teams. Beamer said the goal is to come out of the game without major injuries, and to also see how well the players execute what they have been working on this spring.
Tuesday morning Beamer met with the media via Zoom to talk more about the spring and to preview the spring game.
