#Gamecocks work two hours on Tuesday after two days off; three game times announced (VIDEO)

USC needs a healthy Xavier Legette at receiver this season (USC Athletics)

USC took a regular off day on Sunday, and Monday the team was relieved of all football related activities in lieu of a social justice rally on campus. But Tuesday it was back to the hard preparation for the upcoming season. Will Muschamp put his troops thru a two-hour workout with emphasis on redzone and short-yardage goal line work. Also, Kickoff times for three games were announced Monday afternoon. The opener at home against Tennessee will kick at 7:30 PM on the SEC Network. The following week at Florida will be a Noon start on ESPN. And the home game with Texas A&M on November 7th will have a 7:30 start time on either ESPN or the SEC Network.

Here are Muschamp’s comments following the practice provided by USC:

“It was a hot day, a very physical day. We got good redzone work, short-yardage goal line. We got some good live work. We had some special teams (work) late in practice. It will come up where we’ve got to cover a kick late in the game. We’ve got to be able to return a kick late in the game. It’s one-third of the game, so that’s why we strategically put some of the special teams late in practice to make sure our guys understand the importance of taking advantage of the vertical field position of the games. Jaycee (Horn) and Jammie (Robinson) right now as punt returners. We’re still working through kickoff return and will continue to narrow that down as we go, but right now, Jammie and Jaycee are by far the two best punt returners.”

Following practice, USC’s Steve Fink interviewed strongside linebacker Brad Johnson and wide receiver Xavier Legette and provided those videos to the media.
