STRecruiting Notebook 5-18: Two Clemson defensive targets coming off the board Monday; USC hosted a large group of prospects Sunday

A pair of Clemson defensive back targets, both from the state of Tennessee, will make their commitment announcements on Monday. SAF Jarrell Chandler of Knoxville has a final four of Clemson, Tennessee, Miami, and Vanderbilt. Tennessee was the strong, early leader for Chandler, but of late, the tide seems to have shifted to Clemson and Miami. One national analyst, Chad Simmons of On3, projected Clemson to be the choice. He is set to announce at 10:00 AM.

Monday night, around 7:30 PM, CB Brandon Leavell of Nashville will reveal his choice from Clemson, Florida State, Tennessee, NC State, and Florida. He visited Clemson on May 4th, and he has an official visit scheduled with the Tigers for May 29th. Sentiment among analysts seems to be with Tennessee.

DE Jackson Vaughn visited South Carolina Sunday and is set to announce his commitment decision May 26th with the Gamecocks, Notre Dame, LSU, Auburn and Miami the finalists. The Gamecocks offered him over a year ago. Notre Dame is viewed as the strong leader at this point.

DB Kelvin Millington (6-4 185) of Bogart, GA visited South Carolina on Sunday, and he told Gamecock247 he will make an official visit on June 5th. He also has Virginia Tech scheduled for June 19th.

One of the top defensive line prospects nationally in the 2028 class, Cory Cunningham (6-3 265) of Charlotte, was among the prospects to visit South Carolina on Sunday.

South Carolina offered 2028 OT Ty Winn of Philadelphia. He visited on Sunday.

South Carolina played host to around 30 prospects on Sunday at the indoor facility and on the practice fields. Here’s a list of most of the confirmed/expected visitors:
