WR Jaiden Kelly-Murray (5-10 170) of Oceanside Collegiate was one of the state’s most productive receivers over the past two seasons at Summerville High School. He emerged as a top target for South Carolina receivers coach Mike Furrey, and on Friday afternoon, Kelly-Murray announced a commitment to the Gamecocks.
“They are recruiting me hard since I’m a South Carolina kid,” Kelly-Murray said last month. “It’s only right for them to recruit me hard coming out of South Carolina. I’m number one on his board as a receiver coming out of 2027. It just shows a lot because he talks to me every day, he calls every day, and checks up on me every day.”
Furrey, a former NFL receiver, obviously has seen things in Kelly-Murray he believes will translate into a high-level SEC receiver.
“He always says my catch radius,” Kelly-Murray said. “He talks about my speed a lot. He’s a big weight room guy, so when he saw my blocking film, he liked it.”
As a sophomore, Kelly-Murray had 82 catches for 1208 yards. Last season, he totaled 72 catches for 1072 yards and 16 touchdowns.
Kelly-Murray has been making visits to USC since attending camp as an eighth grader. He has set his official visit with the Gamecocks for June 19th.
He also has offers from Illinois, Arkansas, Duke, Indiana, Georgia Tech, Kentucky, Virginia Tech, Wisconsin, Florida State, Stanford, Penn State, West Virginia, North Carolina and others.
Kelly-Murray gives the Gamecocks three commitments for the 2027 class and the first on the offensive side.
