STRecruiting: USC continues to bolster its offensive line with another free agent signee in Emmanuel Poku

USC continues to retool its offensive line as the Gamecocks have signed another free agent out of the transfer portal. On Friday, East Carolina transfer Emmanuel “Kojo” Poku (6-5, 326) announced a commitment to the Gamecocks. The Charlotte native spent four years with the Pirates, two as a starter, before entering the transfer portal. In 2025 he earned all-conference honors at the RG spot. He did not allow a sack this past season and committed just eight total penalties in his career, according to Pro Football Focus.

2024: Started all 13 games earning second varsity letter … Named College Football Network Honorable Mention after logging 862 total snaps (784 offense, 68 special teams) … Stood fourth among offensive linemen in snaps … Spilt starting duties between right tackle (six games) and right tackle (seven games) … Helped provide running lanes for all five of Rahjai Harris’ 100-yards games … Helped the Pirates average 436.4 yards of offense a contest, which ranked 24th in FBS … ECU’s offense averaged 32.0 points per game (34th nationally), while its offense averaged 253.3 passing yards per contest (24th nationally) and 172.4 rushing yards per contest (50th nationally) … Member of offensive line unit that helped the Pirates register 500 or more total yards in a game five times (Norfolk State, Temple, Florida Atlantic, Tulsa, North Texas) … Helped provide key blocks on Rahjai Harris’ go ahead 86-yard TD run against NC State in the Go Bowling Military Bowl with 1:33 remaining in the fourth quarter … ECU scored 49 offensive TDs (26 rushing, 23 passing) … Blocked for a pair of five-TD passing games for Katin Houser (Temple, Florida Atlantic).

2023: Played nine games all in a reserve role on the offensive line and on special teams … Earned first varsity letter after logging 242 total snaps (215 offense, 27 special teams) … Member of an offensive line unit that provided running lanes for a pair of 100-yard rushers (Mason Garcia, 118 vs. Marshall; Rahjai Harris, 145 vs. Tulsa) … Helped the Pirates average 277.3 yards per game (113.3/rush, 163.9 passing) … ECU scored 19 total TDs (12 rushing, 7, passing).

2022: Did not experience game action during initial year with the program … Named co-Offensive Scout Team Award winner at ECU’s annual end of the year banquet … Walk-on in the fall of 2022.
