Clemson Wednesday lost a pledge from DT Keshawn Stancil of Clayton, NC as he announced his intent to sign with Miami. Stancil had given his pledge to the Tigers in late June over NC State, Penn State,Georgia and Miami. His defection leaves Clemson with 20 pledges. He’s the third defection from the 2026 class on the defensive side.
South Carolina was listed in a story by Rivals as down for an official visit from RB Messiah Mickens of Harrisburg, PA. Mickens is a former Penn State pledge who backed off that following the firing of head coach James Franklin earlier in October. The story also listed Oklahoma, Georgia, Missouri, Miami and Indiana as other official visit stops for Mickens. Mickens has taken official visits to Penn State, Notre Dame and North Carolina. A knee injury sidelined Mickens for much of the season. He returned to action about two weeks ago. In three game this season he had rushed for 345 yards and four touchdowns. For his career he has 3598 yards and 58 touchdowns.
Clemson offered 2027 WR DJ Huggins (5-11 165) of Kennesaw, GA. Memphis and UNLV are among his other offers.
2027 CB Aamaury Fountain of Warner Robins, GA, who has an offer from South Carolina and interest from Clemson, was offered by Texas, Nebraska and Kansas.
2028 DT Prince Che (6-4 275) of Thomasville, GA, who visited Clemson earlier this month, was offered by Ole Miss.
Clemson target 2027 LB Kaden Henderson will to visit Notre Dame November 8th.
2027 RB Andrew Beard of Bogart, GA, who visited Clemson for the LSU game, named a top five of Georgia, Georgia Tech, Tennessee, Oklahoma and Alabama.
2027 TE Jaxon Dollar of Denver, NC, who visited South Carolina last weekend and Clemson for the LSU game, plans to visit Ohio State this weekend.
South Carolina target 2027 TE Malik Howard was offered by Colorado.
South Carolina target SS AJ Randle of Raleigh was offered by North Carolina.
2028 RB Michael Martin of Christ Church plans to visit Clemson Saturday.
South Carolina is among the group of schools to contact 6-2 Marcus Johnson of Cleveland since he decommitted from Ohio State on Monday. He’s the cousin of Gamecock guard Meechie Johnson.
RHP Collin Smith (6-6 205) of Cochise College, AZ has committed to South Carolina. As a freshman last season, Smith was 8-3 with a 3.56 ERA. In 86 innings he struck out 92 and walked 28.
