



From “Bedlam” to “Paul Bunyan’s Axe” to “Clean, Old-Fashioned Hate,” all great college football rivalries have one thing in common: a cool trophy or nickname.
On Saturday, Coastal Carolina and Appalachian State will meet for the twelfth time in series history. And while the two don’t play for a trophy created out of ocean waves and mountain rock, there is no love lost between the two programs. The tension is so high that Coastal will not mention the name of Saturday’s opponent, instead referring to them as the “School in Boone.”
