Some of Beamer’s key comments

  • Final scrimmage Saturday, got a lot accomplished, had to work around a weather delay and ended up moving to the indoor, did everything like a game day experience.
  • Felt like they got a lot of things done in the scrimmage, liked the way his guys handled things and remained focus on the task at hand and they responded with an excellent workout.
  • This week is a mock week of game week and today was a productive day. No update on Faison. Hopeful and optimistic they’ll hear something soon. George Wilson is out for a while with an injury. He was going to help them at the edge. Hope to have him back this season.
  • Snappers and kickers were even better in this past scrimmage, offense showed more explosiveness, offense continued to protect the ball, there was one pick six by Gerald Kilgore, Kilgore said it came off Air Noland.
  • They are better in the running back room this season compared to last season because they have more depth there than last season.
  • Not ready to name a backup quarterback or QB 3 at this point.
  • They have good depth in the defensive end room despite the loss of Wilson.
  • On the Faison case, thinks they are just in line waiting on the NCAA to act on his situation, believes the NCAA has all the information it has requested and needs to render a decision, unless there’s a call for some clarity on something.
