The next major target for South Carolina to announce his college decision will be OT Kamari Blair (6-6 280) of Clarksville, TN. Blair had a final three of USC, Tennessee and Ole Miss. Those who have made projections for On3 have Ole Miss as a slight favorite over Tennessee and USC. The 247Sports people have not offered up projections. South Carolina needs a recruiting win. The Gamecocks’ last commitment came on July 2nd. Since they they have missed on eight straight prospects who had them on their short list.
South Carolina target WR Somourian Wingo of Saint Augustine, FL will announce July 17th with the Gamecocks, Miami and Florida the finalists. The announcement time is 2:00 PM.
A note in the aftermath of LB Tyler Atkinson’s commitment to Texas over Clemson on Tuesday: Of the 11 non-committed targets at Clemson for the big recruiting weekend May 30, and he was one, seven have committed to other schools. That’s a low hit percentage for an OV weekend for Clemson.
2026 SS Cam Jackson of Georgia Premier Academy has de-committed from South Carolina.
South Carolina baseball signee C Noah Franklin, 17th round pick of the Rangers, will sign with Texas and forgo college.
Forward Reggie Hill is transferring to Coastal Carolina after spending the last two seasons at Midwestern State. He also played at Northwestern State in 2022-23 after beginning his career at Eastern Florida State College. Hill has one season of eligibility remaining. Hill averaged 7.8 points and 6.6 rebounds in 55 games with the Mustangs over two seasons.
