STRecruiting: South Carolina misses out on OT Jabian Shabazz as he picks a SEC rival

Jabian Shabazz

South Carolina came up short Friday night in its efforts to land highly recruited OT Jabian Shabazz (6-7 295) of Kernersville, NC. Shabazz had narrowed his list to the Gamecocks, Tennessee and Ohio State.

With those three hats on the table, Shabazz first picked up the one representing the Gamecocks, then put it down and picked up the Tennessee hat. He then pit that one down and started towards the Ohio State cap before going back to the Vols cap to signify his commitment to the Vols

Shabazz was one of the top offensive line prospects left on the USC board, so missing on him leaves a hole ina class that numbers ten at this point with just two offensive linemen.

Shabazz visited USC for the spring game in April, and he was back for his official visit the first weekend in June. He always spoke highly about the Gamecocks in interviews, but as time grew close r to his decision, the predictions all pointed towards the Vols. He’s the fourth offensive line commitment for Tennessee.
