South Carolina target RB Carsyn Baker of Forsyth, GA is now being projected to Florida by Steve Wiltfong of On3. He took an official visit there two weekends ago. He also canceled an official visit to Ohio State for June 13th. He previously canceled a visit to Clemson for this weekend. He has Florida State scheduled for June 6th and South Carolina for June 20th.
RB Amari Thomas (6-0 195) of Blountstown, FL was a late confirmation to the South Carolina visitors’ list for this weekend. He also visited USC in April. ,Thomas is currently committed to Florida State. After this weekend, he also has official visits scheduled to Kansas State, Kentucky and Florida State. Last season Thomas rushed for 1880 yards and 34 touchdowns. As a sophomore, he rushed for 1365 yards and 22 touchdowns.
Per Paul Strelow of TigerIllustrated, DE Zavion Griffin-Haynes of Rolesville, NC will not make the scheduled official visit to Clemson this weekend.
DE Duyon Forkpa (6-2 235) of IMG Academy has been reoffered by Clemson. He also picked up an offer from Miami.
South Carolina target CB Kosci Barnes was offered by Mississippi State.
South Carolina offered 2027 QB Kharim Hughley (6-0 185) of Gainesville, GA. Last season he passed for 2543 yards, 22 touchdowns and two interceptions. He completed 60% of his passes. Some of his other offers are Auburn, Florida State, Illinois, Ole Miss, Georgia and Georgia Tech.
Basketball News:
Clemson offered 6-2 James Sanderson of McKinney, TX. He also has offers from Sam Houston State, Duquesne, North Texas, Oklahoma State, Stephen F. Austin and Arizona State.
South Carolina target 6-5 Kohl Rosario was offered by Duke.
6-4 Korie Corbett of Ridge View said earlier this week he’s been contacted by some private schools, like Huntington Prep in West Virginia, about transferring. Right now, he’s planning to return to the Blazers, and he said he hasn’t put a lot of thought into it. Corbett is gearing up for his final season of AAU ball after averaging 18 points and 7 rebounds per game last season for Ridge View. Nevada was his most recent offer. USC, which offered a while back, remains in regular contact with assistant coach Eddie Shannon keeping in touch. He’s also now hearing from Clemson and starting to develop that relationship. Virginia Tech has also been in touch. Corbett has not yet set official visits for this year, but he plans to soon. He took one to Ole Miss last November. He expects that USC and Nevada will be two of those official visits.
