South Carolina will have one of their top cornerback from 2024 back on the field in 2025. Vicari Swain missed all of spring practice while working on an academic issue. Throughout the spring head coach Shane Beamer had expressed optimism Swain would be back for the upcoming season.
Talking with the media Thursday night in Greenville at one of his Welcome Home Tour stops, Beamer confirmed that Swain had taken care of his academic business and will be in uniform this fall.
Beamer said Swain would be back with the team when the first session of summer schools begins citing the Tuesday after Memorial Day as the start date.
The academic issue was the second off the field concern for Swain in the last year. Last June he was cited for running a red light and causing a two-car accident in the Vista section of downtown Columbia.
Last season Swain played in 13 games and had 13 tackles with one tackle for loss, one sack and one pass deflection. He will content for the starring cornerback job opposite of Judge Collier, the expected starter on the other side.
