Aaron Rodgers linked with stunning move to join the New York Giants after Jets disaster

Given the fanfare that Aaron Rodgers’ move to the New York Jets created, it would be fair to say that the switch from the Green Bay Packers to the MetLife Stadium was nothing short of disastrous.

The veteran quarterback, a Super Bowl winner and four-time NFL MVP, suffered a season-ending injury within minutes of his first game in his debut season, and the follow-up failed to spark life into the team’s hopes of ending a lengthy postseason drought. It also led to head coach Robert Saleh losing his job.

Now there is growing speculation that having left the Jets, Rodgers may be set to move to the New York Giants, a move that may lead fans of the team to back their side with a bet for next season. If that’s the case, we suggest reading the analysis of all the best sports betting providers here, doing so may well help increase your chances of making the most from any potential payout.

In 2022, Brian Daboll’s first season in charge, the Giants reached the postseason for the first time in four seasons, but the last two campaigns have ended in losing records and attempts to bring in Matthew Stafford have failed, with the Rams veteran opting to stay in Los Angeles.

That paves the way for Daboll to bring in an alternative option as currently he only has Tommy DeVito on his quarterback roster, but it’s a move that ESPN’s Dan Graziano feels the Giants should avoid like the plague,

“You’re suggesting that the Giants’ coach and GM need to hire Aaron Rodgers to save their jobs,”

“I guess we can go to Florham Park and see how Robert Saleh and Joe Douglas are enjoying their contract extensions that they got from the Jets ’cause they brought in Aaron Rodgers. How does that make any sense? He’s the guy you hire if you want to lose your job! We saw this the last couple years. The entire Jets building got fired! I don’t understand what on Earth—I mean, Mike McCarthy got fired in Green Bay. I don’t understand how that makes things… like he’s the guy….That’s a desperation move, but it’s not the right one. I don’t get it. If you’re on thin ice that is not the guy I would bring in.”

41-year-old Rodgers started all 17 of the regular season games for the Jets the last time around and finished with a 5-12 record. That’s the worst record of his entire career, which goes some way to illustrating that the fit with the Jets did not work.

There is a case, at this point, to perhaps suggest Rodgers should call it quits, but right now that does not seem to be an avenue he is considering. He does look set to be released by the Jets and another team said to be interested in acquiring his services is the Tennessee Titans.

Hall of Fame quarterback Steve Young believes that the time is right for Rodgers to consider ending his playing career, commenting on The Rich Eisen Show.

“I’ve always said when your career ends, the dream is shattered. You’re the bag of bones at the bottom of the cliff and you’ve got to start. Roger Staubach was the one that told me my advice when I was retiring: ‘Steve, just run, run away. The game will never leave you, but you’ve got to run.’ That’s the best advice I can give because it’s a death. You have to treat it as a death. It’s a death, and you got to go through all the processes of death.”

Indeed, that fear of the end may be pushing Rodgers into considering extending an NFL career that has already seen him see out twenty seasons, most of which were at the very top
