#STRecruiting: WR Jackson Repp recaps official visit with #Gamecocks, sets announcement date

Jackson Repp

South Carolina head coach Shane Beamer and receivers coach Mike Furrey were blown away by the speed Christ Church WR Jackson Repp (5-8 160) displayed during a summer camp performance. They offered him when no other Power Fours did, and they have stuck with him as he recovers from a torn ACL suffered early in the season.

This past weekend Repp made his official visit to USC and brought his family with him. The visit was everything Repp hoped it would be.

“The weekend was great.  Everybody on the staff was really good and hospitable to me and my family,” Repp said.  “Great environment and good win.  Program is headed in the right direction.  It was just a great weekend overall.  Me and my family loved our time.’

Part of that time was spent talking with Furrey and Beamer. The Repps had some questions for the coaches and apparently were satisfied with their answers.

“I talked to Coach Furrey at the game.  Nothing really new,” Repp said. “The OV was more about practical things, getting me and my family down there.  They are still holding my offer if that’s what I choose. We were just making sure everything was good there.  Everything is.  And Coach Beamer was great.  He loves me as a player and everything and still wants me to be a Gamecock.”

Repp a this point plans to make his commitment decision known on Signing Day at this school. He doesn’t have any other recruiting visits planned, but he and some friends have tickets to the Palmetto Bowl Saturday at Clemson.

“I’ve been to South Carolina more, been around that staff more and they’ve been great to me, so I guess I’ll be rooting for Carolina,” Repp said.  “They’ve been on a pretty good stretch lately and would love to see that continue.  I think Carolina comes out with it.”

Recruiters have had to judge Repp off his junior tape and summer workouts. Last season he was among the state’s most dangerous offensive players with 63 catches for 1510 yards and 27 touchdowns. He had 2393 all-purpose yards and 32 total touchdowns.
