It appears the days of two coaches sitting down to discuss the positives of their teams and the concerns the other squad presents during a bowl press conference are long gone. In place of a breakdown of the game is a seemingly endless barrage of questions regarding opt-outs and the NCAA transfer portal.

On Thursday, Clemson head coach Dabo Swinney and Kentucky head coach Mark Stoops fell victim to the new “Q&A” of college athletics. As the two gathered for a Zoom press conference on their upcoming matchup in the Gator Bowl, the questions quickly shifted to players that won’t be in Jacksonville, along with how the portal is shaping every aspect of their respective programs.
