The Erskine Flying Fleet go into year five of the restart of their football program looking for their first winning season. Coach Shap Boyd has been at the helm of the new program from the beginning and believes this year’s team will be closer to what he wants in a team in terms of physicality and the ability to run the ball.
The Flying Fleet won their first two games of 2022 then lost nine straight, all within the South Atlanta Conference. But the feeling within the program is the players are bigger and stronger than ever and ready to take the next step to a winning record. Working against them, however, will be a schedule with only four home games.
Erskine will open their season September 2nd at Allen University in Columbia.
