It’s “Game Week” in South Carolina but before we can officially kick things off later this week, the “Palmetto Pigskin Tour” has a pair of stops to make. On Monday, Phil pointed the cruiser toward Allen University in preparation for this week’s contest with next door neighbor and rival Benedict College.
With the reinstatement of football just a few years ago, the Yellow Jackets are currently transitioning into NCAA Division Two status. They are competing as a provisional member at that level with completion of the school’s transition set for 2023. Allen is moving into the Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Conference, alongside the next door neighbor Tigers. Saturday’s game is set for 6pm at Benedict.
Due to a family issue, Allen head coach Teddy Keaton could not join us on Monday. However, assistants Rico McCoy and Quintin Richardson stopped by, along with players Richard Hayes, Tahj Reese, and David Wright.
