#STRecruiting Notebook 8-16 (UPDATED with Andre Greene Jr.)

Clemson was included in the top six announced Monday afternoon by four-star WR Andre Greene Jr. of Richmond. Also in the six were North Carolina, LSU, Georgia, Oregon and Penn State. Left off the final six from his previous short list were Tennessee, Florida State, Michigan, Virginia, Oklahoma, Texas, Texas A&M, Miami and Notre Dame. Greene camped at Clemson in June and returned for on an unofficial visit for the cookout on July 25th. In June he made official visits to Georgia, North Carolina and Oregon.

DT Jamari Lyons of Melbourne, FL told Rivals he’s down to USC and Florida. He was also considering Indiana but said he plans to stay closer to home, and the Gamecocks and Gators give him the best options with that. He made an official visit to Florida and an unofficial visit to USC in June. He will take an official visit to USC September 24th and will go to Florida again for an unofficial visit September 18th. He plans to announce his decision October 6th.

One-time USC target DE Tomiwa Durojaiye of Middletown, DE committed to Kentucky on Sunday. He also had West Virginia, Georgia Tech and Vanderbilt on his short list.

LB Deuce Spurlock of Madison, AL, who has a USC offer, postponed his planned commitment announcement Friday. He has not announced a new date. USC offered him earlier in the month. He has not yet visited USC. Clemson also has been showing interest. He camped there in June and visited again in late July. Spurlock has had a top five of Michigan, Mississippi State, Pitt, Liberty and Appalachian State.

2023 WR Brandon Inniss of Miami Gardens, FL plans to announce his commitment decision this Sunday. Clemson was in his top ten but is not among his five finalists of Alabama, Florida, Miami, Ohio State and Oklahoma.

Greenville SAF Ashton Whitne committed to Georgia Southern last week. West Virginia, Syracuse and Indiana were his Power 5 offers. He made official visits to Syracuse and West Virginia in June.

Clemson is in the top ten with 6-5 Justyn Fernandez of Richmond. The others on his list are George Mason, Florida, Virginia Tech, Tennessee, Boston College, Wake Forest, Providence, Rhode Island and NC State.

USC target 7-1 Christian Reeves, who was at the Cannon School in Charlotte, has transferred to Oak Hill Academy in Virginia.

USC target 6-9 Jalen Reed of Oak Hill Academy, VA was offered by Vanderbilt.

Clemson offered 2023 5-10 Trey Green of Mooresville, NC.

2023 6-8 Gregory Jackson of Ridge View was offered by Virginia.

Catcher Jacob Jarrell (6-0 200) of P27 Academy in Lexington committed to Clemson.
