
The Associated Press released its “Top 25” preseason college football poll on Monday afternoon with defending national champion Alabama on top. The Crimson Tide received 47 of a possible 63 first place votes to sit ahead of Oklahoma.
Clemson is third in the preseason rankings with Ohio State and Georgia rounding out the “Top 5”. Coastal Carolina was picked 22nd with fellow Sun Belt Conference member Louisiana ranked 23rd.
In addition to Alabama and Georgia, the SEC is represented in the poll by Texas A&M (#6), Florida (#13), and LSU (#16).
Meantime, the Atlantic Coast Conference boasts three ranked teams; Clemson (#3), North Carolina (#10), and Miami (#14).
