#STRecruiting: #Clemson lands Georgia power forward

Ian Schieffelin

Clemson basketball coach Brad Brownell Monday night gained a commitment from 6-8 Ian Schieffelin of Loganville, GA. He’s the Tigers’ second commitment for the 2021 class joining 6-3 guard Joshua Beadle of Cardinal Newman. Schieffelin saw his recruiting stock take off with an excellent summer performance. Brownell and the Clemson staff started to follow him thru the tournaments and offered June 27th.

Schieffelin narrowed his list to a final five of Clemson, Virginia Tech, Dayton, Appalachian State and Richmond before choosing the Tigers. He also had offers from The College of Charleston, Mercer, Charlotte, Elon, Georgia State, Winthrop, James Madison and Murray State.

Schieffelin weighs in at 225 pounds and can play power forward and center. He’s a 3-star rated recruit in the 247 Sports Composite and is ranked 51st nationally among power forwards and 20th among all prospects in Georgia.

Brownell and his staff still have spots to fill on the roster for 2021. The Tigers have 12 on scholarship for this season and three graduating players. With the two commitments, Brownell still has two scholarships to spend on the class.
