STRecruiting Notebook 4-24: Gibson moves up his commitment date; Clemson offers one of the nation’s top kickers

Woodruff RB Aiden Gibson has set his commitment date for May 1st. He’s coming off a visit to Rutgers on Wednesday. He has officials set with Rutgers, South Carolina, Penn State and Virginia Tech. He had originally planned to wait until the summer to make his decision.

LB Ja’Bios Smith of Swainsboro, GA with a final five, which are the schools he’d already set his officials with…South Carolina May 1st, Florida May 29th, Texas A&M June 5th, Texas Tech June 12th and Georgia June 19th.

Clemson offered P/PK Michael Gallaway (6-4 190) of Bradenton, FL Thursday night. the left-footed booster is ranked #1 in punting and #3 in kicking by Kohls Kicking. He also has offers from Auburn, Tennessee, North Carolina, Ole Miss, West Virginia, Cincinnati, Missouri and others.

Clemson offered LB Tyson Washington (6-3 205) of Springfield, VA. He visited in March. He has officials set with Syracuse, Wake Forest, Penn State and Virginia Tech.

Clemson OL coach Matt Luke visited OL Stafford Willis of Arab, AL on Thursday.

2028 QB Braydon Walden (6-5 200) of South Pointe made a recent visit to Clemson. He played for Lincoln Charter School in Lincolnton, NC, last season and passed for 1850 yards, rushed for 500 yards, and accounted for 25 touchdowns.

South Carolina offered 2028 OL Samuel Bailey (6-6 295) of Huntsville, AL.

South Carolina offered 2029 DE DJ Dockery (6-3 220) of Washington, DC.

2029 DB Taddrick Gibson Jr. of Dutch Fork was offered by Miami.

Reported by Recruits Zone that South Carolina is one of the schools involved with Georgia State free agent 6-4 Jakai Newton.

One-time Clemson signee Trinity Jones has committed to Maryland.
