Clemson head coach Dabo Swinney met with the media via Zoom, Monday. The Tigers are 2-0 and ranked no. 1 in the AP poll heading into the bye week but that doesn’t mean Swinney doesn’t see room for improvement. But he has also seen some impressive performances from both freshmen and veterans. Swinney specifically heaped praise on quarterback Trevor Lawrence, wide receiver Amari Rodgers and Brent Venables’ defensive unit. Lawrence is 30 for 37 for 519 yards and five touchdowns in about five quarters of action this season. From a news perspective, Swinney shared that sophomore defensive tackle Ruke Orhorhoro will be out until at least December after having his meniscus repaired. Offensive lineman Mason Trotter and defensive tackle Tyler Davis may be available after the bye week.

The Tigers have hit on all cylinders through the first pair of games but the competition will get stiffer after the off week as the defending Coastal division champion Virginia Cavaliers will come calling. The Oct. 3rd kickoff has been scheduled for 8 p.m.
