One of the top offensive line targets on the USC board, Caleb Siler of Gunter, TX, has firmed up his official visit date with the Gamecocks. Siler made an unofficial visit to USC in April, one of a plethora of spring visits, and has been in the process of lining up his official visits over the last couple of weeks.
Siler actually made his first official visit earlier this month to Northwestern. He will visit TCU on May 29th, Arkansas on June 5th, South Carolina on June 12th, Texas Tech on June 16th, and then he will wrap things up on June 19th at Texas.
Siler had set June 18th for his commitment announcement, but with his official visits now set, he has moved that back to June 21st.
USC offensive line coaches Randy Clements and Jason Smith have known Siler for years from their time in Texas, so that’s given them a leg up in building their relationship with him.
“I really like the guys. They obviously have a great track record,” Siler said last month. “Coach Smith, being a previous second overall draft pick and being a really good player, and Coach Clem being his coach, speaks volumes about how good of a coach he is.”
The Gamecocks currently have two commitments for the offensive line.
