



South Carolina 81-Auburn 51 Game Summary
- USC jumped out to a 16-2 lead in the opening six minutes and led 26-10 at the end of the quarter. The Gamecocks shot 69% in the quarter to 22% for the Tigers.
- The Gamecocks only scored 13 points in the second quarter as they had as many turnovers, four, as field goals, but they limited the Tigers to just six points on 2-12 shooting while forcing seven turnovers.
- USC found the range again in quarter three making 69% of its shots while limiting Auburn go 31%. Joyce Edwards had eight points in the quarter.
- The Gamecocks led 61-31 after three, and the teams played an even fourth quarter at 20-20.
- The Gamecocks finished at 53% for the night, including seven three-pointers, and held Auburn to 30%. USC was also 16-17 from the line.
- The Gamecocks did suffer 16 turnovers, but forced 15 and had five blocks.
- Edwards led the Gamecocks with 20 points and five rebounds.
- Agot Makeer came out of the game after four minutes and did not return. Dawn Staley did not specify what type of injury sidelined Makeer, but said she was in pain. Makeer was seen wearing what appeared to be a heating pad around her waist/lower back.
- Ta’Niya Latson did not play in the second half because of an illness according to Staley.
- The Gamecocks are 21-2 and 7-1 in the SEC after their 17th straight win over Auburn. They play at Texas A&M on Monday night.
