


South Carolina and Clemson started hosting transfer targets over the weekend, with more visits to continue into this week. Oklahoma WR Jayden Gibson and Missouri WR Joshua Manning visited USC over the weekend based on their social media postings. Gibson later reached a contract agreement.
Also visiting USC on Sunday, according to reports, was UCF offensive lineman Carter Miller. He’s played 1992 snaps in his career and allowed two sacks. He’s also played at ULM and James Madison.
According to reports from recruiting networks 247Sports and Rivals, South Carolina is down for visits this week from TCU RB Nate Palmer (6-0 190), LSU OL Paul Mubenga (6-5 317), Florida State TE Randy Pittman (6-2 237), and Louisiana OT Bryant Williams (6-7 329) from Louisiana.
Palmer, Mubenga, and Williams are scheduled for Monday. Palmer visited Purdue on Sunday, and Mubenga was at Arkansas. His brother is an incoming freshman with the Hogs. Williams visited Florida State on Sunday and told a Seminole website afterwards that it will be hard to top his visit to Tallahassee.
Pittman is down for January 7th. He has been to Auburn and is scheduled to visit SMU on Monday.
UCF DT Horace Lockett (6-6 355) was scheduled to visit on January 9th, but has decided to remain at UCF.
Texas Tech transfer PK Upton Bellenfant said South Carolina contacted him and cancelled his scheduled visit for Monday, and apparently is no longer pursuing him. He’s now focused on Memphis and Troy.
Two other offensive linemen planning to visit USC are DJ Chester (6-6 315) of LSU and Seth Smith (6-4 285) of Northern Arizona.
Hale McGranahan of TheBigSpur reported two other offensive linemen set to visit USC are Hank Purvis of Purdue and Grant Seagren of Oklakhoma State.
Inside the Gamecocks reported on Monday that Clemson transfer TE Josh Sapp (6-3 235) will be visiting USC on Friday. He played in 41 games over four seasons, including a redshirt season as a true freshman, and caught 24 passes for 273 yards and 2 touchdowns.
Clemson had a pair of defensive back targets on campus for visits on Sunday, according to Grayson Mann of TigerNet, in Chris Bracy (6-195) of Memphis and Elliott Washington(5-11 199) of Penn State.
Bracy had 116 tackles and two interceptions in three seasons at Memphis. Washington had 53 tackles and two interceptions on three seasons with the Nittany Lions.
Another defensive back set to visit Clemson is Florida State SAF Edwin Joseph (6-0 198) on January 7th. He has visited Texas and Texas A&M, and he also plans to visit NC State.
Southern Cal LB Matai Tagoa’I (6-4 205) posted that he will be visiting Clemson on Monday. UCLA is also interested. As a freshman this season he had four tackles and played a lot of special teams.
Also scheduled to visit Clemson on Monday are West Georgia DL Kourtney Kelly (6-3 281), OT Johnnie Brown (6-3 315) from Georgia Southern, and DT Josh Hough (6-4 320) from D2 member California of Pennsylvania.
Kelly will visit Kentucky on January 7th and Mississippi State on January 8th. Brown has visited Louisville and West Virginia. And Hough also plans to visit Cincinnati, UCF and Oklahoma State. This season he had 58 tackles with 11 tackles for loss and six sacks. He began his career at Syracuse as a running back.
Also scheduled to visit Clemson on Monday is SAF Jerome Carter (6-2 195) of Old Dominion, according to Chris Hummer. He had 76 tackles and six interceptions this season.
Also scheduled to visit on Wednesday, according to TigerIllustrated, is SAF Corey Myrick (6-2 200) of Southern Miss. The report stated Myrick also plans to visit LSU, Louisville, Georgia Tech, Wisconsin, Cincinnati and Memphis. This season he had 82 tackles and one interception.
The Tigers also have upcoming visits set with Kansas SAF Lyrik Rawls (6-1 205) and Oregon State LB Dexter Foster (6-3 236).
Rawls is scheduled for Clemson on January 10th. He has Arizona State on Monday, Tennessee on Tuesday and Duke on January 8th. He began his career at Oklahoma State. He had 72 tackles with one interceptions this season.
Foster visited Nebraska on Sunday and Monday and is scheduled for Clemson on January 9th He started seven games this season before an injury sidelined him. He had 52 tackles and 3 tackles for loss.
Jacob Polacheck of Kentucky Sports Radio reported that Oklahoma transfer DT Markus Strong is considering a visit to Clemson, according to his agent.
Clemson is in the mix for Southern Cal DL Devan Thompkins, along with Alabama, Georgia, Auburn, and Ohio State.
Oklahoma State OL Austin Kawecki, who had been linked to South Carolina for a visit this week, committed to Wisconsin.
South Carolina transfer target Brendan Black of Iowa State committed to Nebraska. He was scheduled to visit the Gamecocks on Tuesday.
Bowling Green TE Jacob Harris, who had been reported as a potential South Carolina target, committed to Wisconsin.
Florida State DT Jayson Jenkins, who was linked to Clemson in some early recruiting network reporting, but who wasn’t pursued by the Tigers, committed to Mississippi State.
Former Clemson SAF Khalil Barnes is transferring to Georgia.
Former South Carolina TE Michael Smith is transferring to Syracuse.
Former USC OG Nick Sharpe has set a visit to Michigan State for Monday.
Former USC WR Vandrevius Jacobs visited Miami on Saturday.
Florida DE Justus Boone, a Sumter High product, is transferring to Wisconsin.
Boston College RB Turbo Richard, out of Northwestern High, is transferring to Indiana.
Former South Carolina LB Wendell Gregory is expected to transfer to Texas Tech from Oklahoma State.
Former South Carolina TE Connor Cox is transferring from North Carolina.
Former Clemson WR Troy Stellato is transferring from Kentucky.
Blythewood native DT Sterling Sanders is transferring from Boston College.
Charleston Southern OL Andrew Threatt committed to North Carolina.
Missouri State freshman TE Jackson Kohl (6-5 235) is transferring to Coastal Carolina.
Former Furman WR Ja’Keith Jackson committed to ECU.
Summerville native and East Carolina transfer WR Yannick Smith has signed a free agent contract with SMU.
Clemson on Monday offered OT Elijah Hutcherson (6-5 275) of Rabun Gap, GA. South Carolina had previously offered him. He also has offers from Florida, Vanderbilt, North Carolina, Auburn, Georgia Tech, Arkansas, Ohio State, Indiana, Georgia, Tennessee, Virginia Tech, Florida State, Oregon, Syracuse, Minnesota, Kentucky, West Virginia, Pitt, NC State and others. He was First Team All State last season.
South Carolina Monday offered RB Jerry Beard II of Bogart, GA. This season, he had 1845 all-purpose yards and 18 touchdowns. He also has offers from Virginia Tech, Oregon, Maryland, South Florida, Liberty, Wisconsin, Florida, Stanford, Michigan, Duke, Cincinnati, Indiana, Miami, Vanderbilt, Florida State and others.
South Carolina target OT Joshua Sam-Epelle named Georgia Miami, Tennessee and Ohio State as his current favorites.
South Pointe DT Seth Tillman, at check-in for Navy AA Game, said he’ll visit South Carolina and Georgia in late January.
