South Carolina is in hot pursuit of 2027 OL Brady Hull (6-3 285) of Pulaski, KY, and he is equally interested in the Gamecocks. The Gamecocks like Hull as a center, or an interior offensive lineman.
The school has a prior relationship with Hull’s family through his sister who played softball for the Gamecocks. That gave the football program a boost once offensive line coach Lonnie Teasley starting to recruit him.
“Ever since I was little, I just loved going to South Carolina,” Hull said. “It’s just an awesome place. There’s nowhere better honestly. I’ve created a great relationship with the coaches. It’s just been a great opportunity.’
Hull made his first visit to USC last spring, and then he attended a lineman camp in June where he got to work out in front of Teasley and head coach Shane Beamer.
“They always tell me that I would fit great in their system,” Hull said. “They are always looking for championship players and players to develop. They always tell me they can develop me. They like that I’m very aggressive and have very fast feet. They think I’m a great young man. They always tell me how good of a man I am and how good of a family I come from.”
Hull was an interested viewer of the Gamecocks’ win over Virginia Tech last weekend, with a focus on the offensive line. In particular, he watched the work of center Boaz Stanley.
“I really look up to their center,” he said. “I like their offensive line. They are very aggressive. I look up to their center a lot. When I was there for spring, we have the exact same build. I feel like that stands out to me. If he can do it, I can do it.”
Hull plans to visit USC for the Kentucky game. This weekend he will be in Lexington to watch the Wildcats take on Ole Miss. While he’s strongly interested in South Carolina, Hull admits the home state team might be hard to beat.
“Growing up in Kentucky, you always want to play for your home state. It’s always a dream,” Hull said. “Yeah, Kentucky obviously has a special place in my heart. I mean, you never know.”
Hull said South Carolina, Kentucky, NC State and Wisconsin are the four schools which have offered that he is considering the strongest at this time. He also has offers from Georgia Tech, South Florida, Virginia Tech, Mississippi State, East Carolina and Duke.
