Not everyone is jumping ship with the South Carolina basketball program. Greenville native 7-0 Jordan Butler announced through his agent on Monday afternoon he will return for a second season with the Gamecocks.
Butler himself was a transfer to USC from Missouri prior to last season. He played in 28 games averaging seven minutes per game along with two points and one rebound.
Playing time for Butler, however, increased as the season went along. He recorded double-digit minutes in each of his final seven games, and in one of those, against Arkansas, he scored his season high of nine points.
Butler is a big man who loves to play on the perimeter though he just a career 25% shooter from three.
Butler, along with Myles Stute, are the only returning players from last year’s team.
