Around the time the Clemson football team is running down the hill for its matchup with South Carolina on Saturday, the Coastal Carolina Chanticleers will be leaving their hotel in Atlanta for an encounter with Georgia State. The two games, separated by about 120 miles, are extremely impactful for all three of the Palmetto State’s FBS programs. USC and Clemson are still holding out hope that one or both might receive a playoff invitation. Meantime, the Chanticleers have to beat the Panthers to extend their season by earning a fifth consecutive bowl bid.
On Tuesday, CCU head coach Tim Beck met with the media to recap his team’s loss to Georgia Southern that put the Chanticleers in a must-win situation against the 3-8 Panthers at 2 p.m. on Saturday.
