South Carolina made several offseason moves in hopes of beefing up the defense for 2025. Last season the Gamecocks allowing nearly 400 yards and 26 points per game. Thirteen of the 35 newcomers work on the defensive side including highly regarded defensive end Dylan Stewart who figures to make an immediate impact.
Clayton White also worked the Transfer Portal with vigor to find some immediate help. There are seven transfers on the defensive side, five coming from Power Four programs.
White expects to see a lot of improvement from his group and feels this is the most talent he’s had to work with as he goes into his fourth season with the Gamecocks.
