South Carolina Friday received another public commitment from one of the top defensive prospects in Virginia for the 2025 class. SAF Kendall Daniels (6-3 187) of Norfolk announced his plans to join fellow Virginian DT Caleb Williams of Chesterfield in the Gamecocks’ 2025 class.
Daniels made his official visit to USC in June. He was also in for the Gamecocks’ spring game in April. He had narrowed his list to USC, Clemson and Virginia Tech.
Clemson also became involved with an offer the end of May when Daniels made an unofficial visit, but he did not take an official visit with the Tigers. He did take an official visit to Virginia Tech in late June.
Daniels also had offers from Alabama, Virginia, Texas A&M, Miami, Southern Cal, Texas, Oklahoma, Florida, Auburn and Notre Dame.
Daniels, who has also plays quarterback at Maury High, visited USC last summer, and since then secondary coach Torrian Gray has led the recruiting effort. Gray, along with head coach Shane Beamer, have strong ties in Virginia through their days at Virginia Tech.
Daniels gives the Gamecocks three safeties in the class joining Damarcus Leach of Abbeville and Christopher Hatfield of Lincolnton, GA. He’s the 19th commitment for the Gamecocks 2025 class.
