Clemson offensive lineman Tristan Leigh is learning what it takes to get better, and he credits new OL coach Matt Luke for speeding up that process.
“His knowledge is unlike anything,” Leigh said in explaining what has impressed him about Luke. “He’s been coaching for so long. I can go to him and ask questions about guys that are dominating the league now, like Laremy Tunsil and Michael Oher. There really isn’t a limit to his knowledge, so that’s what I love about him.”
Leigh has played over 800 snaps during his career, with the majority of those coming on 11 starts last season. As he enters the 2024 campaign, he believes he’s finally settling into the position.
“I feel a lot more comfortable. Playing is everything,” Leigh stated during a recent media availability during spring practice. “When you play the games, you’ve gone against really good pass rushers, and there is trial and error. Ok, this is what works for me; this is what doesn’t work for me, and I can just build off of that.”
Leigh and the Tigers will wrap up spring practice this Saturday with the annual “Orange and White” game at Memorial Stadium. Kickoff set for 1 p.m.
