STRecruiting: SAF Kennedy Green is focused on two schools with one more OV to take later this month

South Carolina recently lost a safety commitment, so the Gamecocks continue to work on SAF Kennedy Green (6-2 195) as a potential addition to the 2027 class. Green took his official visit to USC on the first of May, and recruiter Torrian Gray is keeping the lines of communication warm for the Gamecocks.

“They’ve been reaching out to me, trying to see how my summer has been going,” Green said. “That relationship with me and Coach Gray is still tight, especially after the OV. I like to see that because some schools, you go on your official and they stop talking to you until you’re about ready to commit. But the way South Carolina is still talking to me and communicating with me even after my official shows that, even though they’ve got more guys coming up on officials, they still want me.”

Green added that Gray hasn’t let up on him and has made it clear to him that he’s wanted for this recruiting class.

“He’s just telling me he’s pursuing me hard,” Green said. “He said, ‘ Don’t let all these guys, if they commit, scare you.’ He still wants me, and I could be an asset and come in and make a big impact as a freshman. He was telling me how he sees me fitting in, that I can come in and make an impact as a freshman if I were to go to South Carolina.”

Green said he’s not quite all the way there on a commitment decision. He has one more official visit to take, and he has a commitment date set, so he wants to stick to his plan.

” I still have Mississippi State OV at the end of the month. And it would be, it most likely will be between South Carolina and Mississippi State. So I definitely want to take my Mississippi State OV and just see what they have to offer. And then my commitment date is July 11th. Every day is interchangeable. I do talk to the Mississippi State coaching staff a lot, just as I do with South Carolina. And I can play at both. I feel like both situations are good; I couldn’t go wrong with either situation. So, that’s why I want to get to my Mississippi State OV before I have a favorite. Just because I’ve been on my South Carolina OV only, I could say that’s my favorite, but that’s not fair to Mississippi State, because I haven’t been on my official up there.”

Green was once committed to Mississippi State as a sophomore before recommitting on June 4th, 2025. Purdue and Nebraska were two others Green had down for visits, but those have been scratched. North Carolina has also been talking with him about a possible visit this weekend.
