Clemson coach Dabo Swinney was hoping when he hired veteran Matt Luke to replace Thomas Austin as his offensive line coach that Luke would hit some home runs in recruiting for the position.
Luke had seven top linemen in for the Tigers’ junior day Saturday and two have now taken him up on his offers.
OG Jaylan Beckley (6-4 290) of Addison, TX announced his commitment to the Tigers roughly a half hour after the public commitment of OT Brayden Jacobs of Buford, GA.
Beckley was offered by Austin on behalf of Clemson last summer following a camp session. Beckley was one of the first linemen Luke contacted when he replaced Austin, and the two immediately hit it off.
Some of the other top programs with Beckley were Oklahoma State and Oklahoma, Kansas, LSU, Texas A&M, and Duke. He also had offers from Florida State, Georgia, Tennessee and LSU.
Beckley gives Clemson ten commitments for their 2025 class and the third for the offensive line.
