#STRecruiting Notebook 3-10

DT Kamarion Franklin (6-5 260) of Lake Cormorant, MS has begun his spring road trips. Today he is at Florida State and Monday he plans to visit Auburn. Franklin is traveling with his teammate 2025 LB Jarcoby Hopson and the two of them are due at USC March 17th. Franklin said he will be making a return trip to Miami March 25th. Franklin said he’s been talking with Gamecocks defensive line coach Jimmy Lindsey. “He loves my motor,” Franklin said. This visit to USC will be his first. Franklin said after he takes these and other spring visits he’ll decide on his official visits.

USC target Houston transfer OG Cam’Ron Johnson (6-4 305) continues to pick up offers since entering the Transfer Portal on Wednesday. His newest offers are Missouri and Arizona State. Along with the Gamecocks, others who offered Wednesday and Thursday were West Virginia, Maryland and Cal. Johnson was a first team All-Conference performer for the Cougars last season and allowed one sack in 586 pass block snaps. Johnson is a native of Houston. He signed and redshirted in 2019 and played one snap in 2020. In 2021, Johnson played 669 snaps as a backup left guard and allowed three sacks in 345 opportunities. This past season he started all 13 games and played 905 snaps.

Clemson is among the top 10 schools with LB Aaron Chile’s of Olney, MD. The others on his short list are Notre Dame, Ohio State, Penn State, Florida, Maryland, Michigan, LSU, Florida State and Georgia.

WR Amari Jefferson of Chattanooga plans to visit Clemson Saturday. He went to junior days at USC, Kentucky and Alabama. He also has spring dates with Auburn and Tennessee.

2025 TE Ryan Ghea (6-5 220) of Alpharetta, GA is visiting Clemson Friday.

USC target WR BJ Gibson to visit Florida State Saturday.

Oregon offered Clemson target QB Air Noland of Fairburn, GA. He is visiting Clemson this weekend. Among the others expected to visit Clemson this weekend are DE Eddrick Houston of Buford, GA, OT Casey Poe of Lindale, TX, OT Eagan Boyer (6-8 265) of Cornelius, NC, LB Joseph Phillips (6-3 230) of Shorter, AL, OT JacQawn McRoy (6-8 345) of Pinson, AL and SAF Ricardo Jones of Warner Robins, GA

2026 QB Josiah Oxendine of Dillon has spring visits set with USC March 14th, Florida State March 25th, Virginia Tech March 31st, Pitt April 1st and East Carolina April 8th. He will go to Tennessee this summer.
