#Gamecocks busy on 2nd day of MLB Draft; #Clemson goes 50-50 with its pair of two-sport prospects

The MLB Draft hit the USC program Monday with a 95 MPH fastball in on the hands. It kind of hurt. Seven players connected to the program were drafted, and their decisions on whether to sign or return to school will have major implications for the 2022 squad. RHP Brett Kerry was the first Gamecock veteran off the board in the fifth round.

Clemson had only two of its veteran players drafted, but RHP/QB Bubba Chandler went 72nd to the Pirates and plans to sign. The good news for Clemson was OF/QB Will Taylor was not drafted Monday and plans to remain in school.

Rounds 11-20 to complete the Draft will be held on Tuesday.

Here’s the rundown of all drafted players with state ties thru two rounds. (*=signee)
