USC opened its game against #12 Arkansas missing eight of its first 10 shots. The poor shooting would continue throughout the game as the Razorbacks ran away with an 101-73 win Tuesday night at the Colonial Life Arena in Columbia. It was the second time an SEC team has put 100 or more on the Gamecocks, and the ninth time in SEC play they’ve allowed 80 or more points.

The first 7:26 of the game was a back-and-forth affair that saw the game tied at 14 after Seventh Woods split a pair of free throws. On the other end, Desi Sills hit one of Arkansas’ 10 first half threes and the visitors never looked back. The Razorbacks would go on to make 15 shots from behind the arc in the game. They finished with a 55% shooting night overall and made 12 of 13 from the foul line.

The Gamecocks went into the break down 49-32 after making just 12 of 43 field goal attempts. They finished the game shooting 27-72 (37.5%) overall and just 6 of 23 from three point range. And for good measure, they missed 10 foul shots.

The Razorbacks built a 20-point lead at 58-38 with 16:14 to play. After the under-16 timeout, South Carolina went on a 6-0 run to get to within 14, but never got closer. Arkansas responded with a 17-6 run over the next five minutes to take a 25 point and never looked back.

AJ Lawson led the Gamecocks with 18 points. Three Razorbacks scored at least 21 points led by freshman guard Moses Moody who tied his career high with 28 points, including four three-pointers. Arkansas has won 10 straight SEC games and is 20-5 overall, 12-4 in the SEC.

The loss is the Gamecocks 8th in their last 10 games and drops them to 6-13 overall and 4-11 in the SEC. They will finish the regular season on Saturday at Kentucky with tipoff at Noon.
