The South Carolina women’s basketball team bounced back from its first loss of the season with an 83-65 victory over Iowa State in Ames, Iowa, Sunday. Zia Cooke led the Gamecocks (4-1) with 19 points as the team rebounded from a dreadful offensive performance against NC State.
South Carolina raced out to a 10-0 lead and the 23rd-ranked Cyclones never led. Aliyah Boston scored seven of her 13 points in the first quarter and helped the Gamecocks control the glass. USC outrebounded Iowa State 50-24, paced by Boston’s 15 boards.
The Gamecocks will next play host to Temple on Dec. 17 at 7 p.m.
