OL JJ Brown of Lilburn, GA, who makes his official visit to Clemson this weekend, has set June 23rd for his commitment announcement. Florida State, Auburn, Florida and Georgia are the others on his short list. He has officials set with Georgia and Auburn for the two weeks following the Clemson visit.
South Carolina target DE Jackson Vaughn of Plainfield, NJ committed to Notre Dame. He visited the Gamecocks earlier this month.
One-time South Carolina target OL Kendrayis Jones of Loganville, GA, committed to Nebraska. Jones competed at a USC camp last summer and later was offered by former Gamecock offensive line coach Lonnie Teasley, who is now an assistant coach at Nebraska.
Irmo OL Nate Carson was offered by Colorado. He makes his official visit to Clemson this weekend.
WR Amare Patterson of Bluffton/Ridgeland was offered by North Carolina. Also, he will not make a scheduled official visit to LSU this weekend according to the LSU fan website TigerBait.
South Carolina RHP Josh Gunther is entering the free agent market. This season, he was 2-4 with a 7.41 ERA. He made 13 appearances with seven starts. He struck out 44 and walked 25 in 37.2 innings.
