Clemson’s big recruiting weekend is still a few days off, but incoming visitors aren’t waiting around to make their calls for the Tigers. Tuesday morning, TE Carter Blackwell (6-4 210) of Leesburg, GA became the fifth commitment for the Tigers in just over a week.
Blackwell also had offers from South Carolina, Florida State, North Carolina, Louisville, Duke, Kansas State, Miami, Colorado, and others.
Blackwell visited Clemson in April and was offered by tight ends coach Kyle Richardson while on the visit. After the visit, Blackwell cited Clemson’s football culture and family feel as two compelling reasons to give the Tigers strong consideration.
Blackwell is the 12th commitment for Clemson’s 2027 class, the fifth from Georgia, and the first tight end.
