Unless Clemson delivers a first official visit knockout this weekend, the Tigers figure to be in a battle for DE Santana Harvey (6-5 225) of Lakeland, FL. Following his official visit to Clemson this weekend, Harvey has official visits scheduled with Florida State, Georgia Tech, Kentucky, and Notre Dame.
“My relationship with Clemson is great, but what has me very interested in them is the coaches and how they make me feel like family,” Harvey said. “Also, the defense and just the production and the development. There’s also the academics and the different opportunities that are maximized at Clemson.”
Harvey has spent most of his communication time with Clemson talking with defensive ends coach Chris Rumph and defensive coordinator Tom Allen.
“They say I’m a very fast, physical player,” Harvey said. “They said I’m a good pass rusher with good pass rusher moves, as well as playing the run game. They said I’m a great fit for Clemson football. Our relationship is great. I’ve known Coach Rumph for over a year. I met him last January (2025), coming out of my sophomore year, and ever since then, it’s just been a great relationship, as well as with Coach Allen. I met Coach Allen when I visited Clemson in the summer, and then my relationship with him just built up over time.”
The Clemson coaches have laid out their plans for Harvey, and he’s convinced by what he’s been told that he could be an immediate contributor.
“Yeah, I definitely see there’s a possibility of me helping that defense,” he said. “I honestly feel like I could come in and make an immediate impact as a freshman.
Harvey has had two very strong seasons as an edge rusher for Lakeland, with a combined 36.5 tackles for loss and 20 sacks. He is one of six defensive ends currently scheduled to visit Clemson this weekend.
