The field of 64 teams for the NCAA Baseball Tournament was announced on Monday. Coastal Carolina, The Citadel, and Upstate will represent the state of South Carolina, all going outside the boundaries of the Palmetto State, but staying in the South.
The Chanticleers received an at-large bid and will be the #2 seed for the Florida State Regional. They will face Northern Illinois at 8:00 PM on Friday on ESPN+. Florida State will take on St. John’s at 3:00 PM.
The Bulldogs received an automatic bid by winning the Southern Conference Tournament championship. They will be the #3 seed for the Georgia Tech Regional and will take on Oklahoma on Friday at 5:00 PM on ESPN+. Georgia Tech will face UIC at Noon.
The Spartans won the Big South Tournament championship Sunday for the second straight season, and they will be the #3 seed in the Alabama Regional. Upstate will go up against Oklahoma State on Friday at 2:00 on ESPN+. Alabama will meet Alabama State at 7:00.
