STRecruiting Notebook 5-19: Clemson RB target announces Wednesday; Tigers & USC miss on targets; USC offers ’28 QB

RB Gary Walker of Fairburn, GA, will make his commitment announcement on Wednesday at 1:00 PM. He has cut his list to Clemson, Florida, Penn State, Virginia Tech, Auburn, and Florida State. He has been projected to commit to Clemson. Walker was scheduled for an official visit to Stanford this weekend. He has Clemson scheduled for May 29th with Virginia Tech, Penn State, and Florida State to follow. Walker rushed for 1700 yards and 20 touchdowns last season.

Clemson target CB Brandon Leavell of Nashville committed to Tennessee.

DT Jesiah Fields of Charlotte, who was a South Carolina target for much of the spring after making numerous visits, committed to Louisville on Monday. He also had an official visit scheduled with the Gamecocks.

Clemson is one of the four finalists for DE Kalib Spivey of Alexander City, AL. The others are Maryland, Duke, and Georgia Tech. He has an official visit to Clemson on June 12th, the week after he visits Georgia Tech. He has Maryland set for June 19th.

CB Joshua Dobson has replaced LSU on his visit schedule for Michigan on June 11.

South Carolina offered 2028 OL Braylon Smith (6-5 275) of Bradenton, FL. The Gamecocks were the first to offer him, and then Miami, Pitt, and Western Kentucky followed suit later in the day.

South Carolina offered 2028 QB Graham Simpson (6-0 182) of Martin, TN. He’s the brother of former Alabama QB Ty Simpson. He has also been offered by Louisville, Kentucky, Indiana, Virginia, Texas, North Carolina, Ohio State, Arkansas, Tennessee, and Florida State. In two seasons, Simpson has completed 76% of is pass attempts for 7735 yards and 104 touchdowns.
