STRecruiting Notebook 3-27: Big OL set to announce Sunday with USC among finalists; More on weekend visits to Clemson & USC

OT Neff Giwa (6-8 300) of Ireland is ready to make a commitment announcement on Sunday, according to Hayes Fawcett of Rivals. Giwa visited South Carolina and Clemson as part of an international group of prospects. The Gamecocks offered, the Tigers did not. He’s never played organized football, but college coaches were impressed by his physical makeup, including 37-in arms and a 4.9 forty. He’s considering USC, Miami, North Carolina, Texas, and Tennessee for his decision.

More prospects will be on campus at Clemson and USC on Saturday. The Tigers will be holding their spring game, while the Gamecocks will be holding another spring practice in conjunction with their coaching clinic. Based on interviews and social media posts, these prospects are expected at the two locations (subject to change)

2028 OL Taeden Checketts (6-2 250) of Cumming, GA visited South Carolina on Thursday. He was at Tennessee on Wednesday.

2029 QB Khayel Sam Fong-Taila, formerly of Dillon and now expected to play in Georgia, visited South Carolina on Thursday.

2028 DE Keoni Snipes (6-6 250) of Saraland, AL was offered by South Carolina. He has nearly 30 offers, including North Carolina, Arkansas, Texas, Tennessee, Ole Miss, Texas A&M, LSU, West Virginia, Missouri, Oklahoma and Florida.

Woodruff RB Aiden Gibson was offered by UCF.

2028 LB Phillip Savage of Powdersville was offered by Miami of Ohio.

2028 TE Riggs Savage of Powdersville was offered by UCF.

2029 RB Brayden Boults of Crestwood will visit Ohio State on Saturday.

2029 QB Xavier Wright of Gray Collegiate plans to visit Virginia Tech Saturday.

Clemson target DE Griff Galloway of Charlotte visited Virginia Tech Thursday.

Clemson target TE Grant Haviland will visit Ohio State this weekend.

Clemson signee Harris Reynolds was named Metro Atlanta Player of the Year by the Atlanta Tipoff Club. Amare James was named to the Third Team, announced by the Atlanta Tipoff Club on Thursday. Reynolds recently helped St. Pius X to a 33-0 season with a state basketball title – its first in 68 years. He scored 23 points with nine rebounds and two blocks in a 54-51 victory over Pace Academy.

Upstate G Karmani Gregory is entering the transfer portal.
