



- Nate Savoie provided all of Clemson’s runs, and a trio of pitchers held the Cougars to six hits and one run.
- Savoie provided the Tigers with a 1-0 lead in the top of the first with a one out homer to right. He added to the lead in the top of the third with a two-run homer to left.
- The Cougars responded with their only run of the game in the bottom of the third . Stow Rogers led off with a walk and scored on a a triple by Will Burgess.
- From there, it was a pitchers duel the rest of the way. Clemson managed four more hits. The Tigers best scoring threat cam e in the seventh with a pair of singles around a fly ball out put runners on first and second. But a fly to right and a grounder to second ended the threat.
- The Cougars managed five hits over the final six innings. They had a scoring threat in the fourth with back to back singles putting runners on first and second with no outs. A 6-4-3 double play followed by a hit batter put runners on the corners with away. A liner to third ended the inning.
- The Cougars also threatened in the fifth after a two out triple by Jacob Amman, but he was stranded by a groundout to first.
- Charleston got a runner to second with two outs in the sixth and couldn’t score him. And in the eighth, the Cougars had second and third with two outs. Clemson brought in Hayden Simmerson, and he got a ground ball to first for the final out of the inning.
- Simmerson then retired the cougars in order in the bottom of the ninth for his first save.
- Dylan Harrison pitched the first four innings for Clemson and gave up one run on three hits. Noah Samol (1-0) followed and scattered three hits over 3.2 innings while striking out six.
- Carson Bryant (1-2) started for Charleston and gave up three runs on three hits while striking out four. Alex Lyon and Kaden Myers kept the Tigers off the board over the final six innings while allowing four hits.
- Clemson is 17-4 and will play at The Citadel Wednesday night. The Cougars are 9-11.
