STRecruiting: OL Brady Hull has made his decision between SEC rivals, and he’ll make his announcement early Thursday afternoon

South Carolina coach Shane Beamer has been recruiting OL Brady Hull (6-2 285) of Pulaski, KY, for a long time. New Kentucky coach Will Stein has been recruiting him for the better part of a month. One of them will come away with his commitment early Thursday afternoon.

“Probably the toughest decision I’ve ever had to make in my life,” Hull told SportsTalkSC Tuesday night. “These two teams have just been battling it out, and I’m grateful for it all.  It’s been crazy, and it’s truly been the hardest decision I’ve made, but I had to do what’s best for me and my family. We’re all on board for it.”

While the Kentucky staff has turned over since last season, the Gamecocks have a new offensive line coach in Randy Clements. He’s actually the third different Gamecock offensive line coach to recruit him. Clements got in to see Hull twice in January, with Beamer alongside on January 28th.

“Ever since Coach Clements has been in, they’ve been on me.  They’ve been doing everything right,”  Hull said.  “They’ve done an amazing job with me, and I’m excited for it.”

Hull said he has made the decision, but he won’t notify the schools until Thursday morning. He will post his decision on social media between 12:30 and 1:00 PM. What were the deciding factors for the winning program?

“Definitely development is a big factor in my recruitment,” Hull said.  “I like to see the development part and what their vision is for me, how they are going to develop me down the road, not on the field but off the field.  Another thing is culture.  I just want to be surrounded by great guys and be surrounded by people who want to see me succeed and strive.  Just want to fit in there great.”

Hull, who is being recruited primarily as a center, visited USC last year for a spring practice, a summer camp, and was in for two games. He’s also made multiple visits to Kentucky, including one on January 17th. He has scheduled an official visit with the Gamecocks for June 19th, the only official he has scheduled at this point.

Hull also had offers from NC State, Purdue, Mississippi State, USF, Virginia Tech, Georgia Tech, East Carolina and Duke.
