STRecruiting: South Carolina signs free agent wide receiver Charly Mullaly of Holy Cross, the third wide receiver out of the Portal for the Gamecocks

The 21st free agent signee for South Carolina is WR Charly Mullaly (6-0 195) of Holy Cross. He announced his commitment and signing on Saturday via Pete Nakos. Mullaly had not been previously reported as a Gamecock target, nor has it been reported if he has ever visited USC. The native of East Fishkill, NY spent three seasons at Holy Cross. He played in 18 games and had 25 catches for 336 yards and two touchdowns. He’s the third free agent wide receiver signed by the Gamecocks.

AS A SOPHOMORE IN 2024:

  • Appeared in four games as wide receiver.
  • Caught seven passes for 139 yards and a score on the season.
  • Scored first career touchdown at Rhode Island (8/31).
  • Tallied five catches for 77 yards against New Hampshire (9/7).

AS A FRESHMAN IN 2023:

  • Appeared in nine games, primarily on special teams.
  • Had one punt return for seven yards against Yale (9/16). 
  • Had two tackles against Bucknell (10/7). 
  • Tallied a tackle against Lafayette (10/21) and Army (11/11). 
  • Had one reception for eight yards against Army (11/11). 

BEFORE HOLY CROSS: 

  • Played a season of football at the Peddie School under Anthony Fontana. 
  • Also played football at John Jay High School.
  • Also played basketball and lacrosse. 

PERSONAL: 

  • Majoring in political science.
