South Carolina football coach Shane Beamer hired two assistant coaches from the former James Franklin staff at Penn State, and now he’s tapped into the Nittany Lion player roster for another running back for his program. Sunday night, Jabree Coleman (6-0 212) announced a contract agreement with the Gamecocks via Hayes Fawcett of On3. New Gamecock running backs coach Stan Drayton recruited Coleman out of Philadelphia and redshirted him this past season. Coleman chose Penn State over North Carolina, Pitt and Rutgers. He had had a previous recruiting relationship with the Gamecocks and visited them in June of 2023 He is the second free agent running back taken by the Gamecocks, who now have 17 in their incoming transfer group.
