STRecruiting: South Carolina lines up an official visit with Big 12 offensive linemen as the college football free agency period commences

OG Brendan Black

New South Carolina offensive line coach Randy Clements joined the Gamecocks after spending last season at TCU, so he got a good look at other offensive linemen around the Big 12. One of those is OG Brendan Black (6-4 320) of Iowa State. The Cyclones defeated the Horned Frogs in early November.

Clements will get to see Black again up close and personal as he has set an official visit with the Gamecocks for January 7th, according to Hayes Fawcett of On3. According to Fawcett, Black will take an official visit to Nebraska this weekend.

Black is a native of Yulee, FL, the same hometown of former Gamecock safety Kelvin Rainey, and current NFL star running back Derrick Henry. He started ten games at right guard this season for the Cyclones and played in all twelve games. In 2024 he made 13 starts at right guard and in 2023 he made seven.
